About Mar Thoma Evangelical Association

The Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association (MTEA) is the oldest of the national missionary movements in India. Its origin, growth and development is entirely indigenous.

The mission work carried out by the MTEA is implemented through different institutions and media spread throughout the country.


    • MTEA runs several schools and colleges which provide education from pre-primary level to the postgraduate level and technical training.
    • MTEA owns several hospitals, clinics and destitute homes to serve the poor.
    • The Mission has also established 50 Ashrams which help to lead a special way of Christian Life and to carry out evangelisation. In order to provide proper training for the evangelists, 3 Christian Evangelistic Training Institutes have also been established.
