Faith2Share is delighted to learn that Linda Abwa will be taking up the position of Mission Director of our member organisation, CMS Ireland, as Jenny Smyth steps down to retire in February. We warmly give thanks for the faithful ministry of Jenny, who is retiring after many years of service in global mission leadership. She has served as Mission Director for over a decade, following earlier years as Partnership Coordinator and, together with her husband Billy, as a Mission Partner in Uganda and South Sudan.

We warmly welcome Linda Abwa as she takes up the role of Director. Linda brings a wealth of experience in global mission, having previously served as a Mission Partner in Nigeria with Mission Africa and, since joining CMS Ireland, as Partnership Coordinator supporting links with partners in South Sudan, DR Congo, and Egypt. Trained as a nurse and midwife, Linda has spent many years accompanying communities affected by HIV, violence, and poverty, and has seen first-hand the transformative impact of the church in places of deep suffering.

We thank God for Jenny’s long and faithful service, and commend Linda as she steps into leadership at this important time. Please join us in prayer for Jenny in her retirement and for Linda in her new role.
