At Faith2Share, we hold the Democratic Republic of Congo close in prayer during this deeply painful season.
The eastern provinces — North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri — have endured years of violence, displacement, and food insecurity. Now they face a further crisis: an Ebola outbreak that has infected hundreds and taken many lives, both in DR Congo and neighbouring Uganda. Millions of Congolese already live with the daily weight of insecurity, limited healthcare, and the grief of lost homes and loved ones. This outbreak falls on already wounded ground.
Yet in the midst of such hardship, the Church continues to bear witness. Local churches, Christian organisations, and community leaders are caring for the vulnerable, walking alongside grieving families, and welcoming those who have been displaced. They offer what they have — practical support, spiritual presence, and the quiet faithfulness of those who refuse to abandon their neighbours. We pray they will know God's strength and nearness as they serve.
Across the Faith2Share network, Christians from many nations stand in solidarity with the people of the DR Congo. We pray for healing — of bodies, communities, and a land that has suffered much. And we pray that the light of Christ will continue to shine through those who serve there, even in the darkest of circumstances.
