Across the globe today, conflict and crisis are spreading like wildfire. From the battlefields of Ukraine, Gaza and now Iran, to the devastated communities of Sudan, Myanmar, Syria, Lebanon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and countless others. The signs are unmistakable: we are living in deeply troubled times.

We recently received a heartbreaking message from one of Faith2Share’s partners in the DRC—a bishop displaced with his community due to violence in the region. With little access to basic necessities such as food, water, and shelter, his appeal reminded us of the many conflicts that rage beyond the headlines, yet impact countless lives. His moving words and steadfast example compelled us to reflect on the kind of leadership our world so urgently needs.

As tensions rise and the world grows increasingly unstable, the consequences of global and local decisions—from bombings to blockades—are felt most acutely by those on the margins. They are the lived realities of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

In this moment, the need for leadership with integrity could not be greater—in governments, churches, and communities alike. Not leadership that exploits power, but one that stewards it. What distinguishes truly effective leaders today is their ability to act with insight, integrity, and the strength to lead with wisdom and humility. This is the essence of courageous, Christ-like leadership. And it is urgently needed now.
