Reciprocal Mission on the agenda

The 2016 Global Mission Conference to be held in London this year will have 'Reciprocal Mission' firmly on its agenda. Hosted by St. James Church Muswell Hill from 12 -15 October 2016 the conference will bring together missionaries, mission societies, pastors, theologians and church members, to think and pray about mission in the third millennium. Speakers will include Dr. Samuel Cueva, President of Mission for the Third Millennium, Dr. Kirsteen Kim, Professor of Theology and World Christianity at Leeds Trinity University and Canon Mark Oxbrow, International Director of Faith2Share.

Many of those attending will be missionaries and leaders of mission movements from Latin America, Africa and Asia who are committed to mission in contemporary Europe. This mission flow from the 'majority world' was once called 'reverse' mission but the organisers of this conference prefer to now speak of 'reciprocal' mission. They point out that the mission of Africans, Asians and Latinos in Europe will be very different from earlier European mission but it is all part of the global mission of God. They also stress the significance of migration as a power house for mission. For more information or to book see the conference website.
