The world today needs to completely rethink its relationship with the environment, and nothing less than a complete transformation of perspective and behaviour is required. For those who adhere to the Christian faith, such a transformation must begin at the foot of the cross. In honour to our Lord we should be leading the world by example in responding appropriately to a creation that groans.

Caring for creation finds its firm foundation in the person and work of Christ.

This book is about the fact that God needs to be central to our persepective as we relate to creation. How we use and care for the land, fish, forests and other resources all needs to flow from a determined committment to the one who originally created the wonders of this world.

With cronic hunger affecting millions the world today needs to completely rethink its relationship to agriculture as well as the environment. The purpose of this book is to put God back into the center of agriculture. He is the First Gardiner, the First Farmer, the First Forester. When we build agricultural systems modeled after the beauty and diversity that we see in the Garden of Eden, we glorify God, we brighten our testimony for Christ, and we move substantially in the direction that brings blessing to our brothers and sisters who are cronically hungry.

Our gardens and farms should bear tangible witness to the fact that we serve the God of all creation, and that we hold tightly to standards and princples that reflect a Biblical view of agriculture.
