CMS AUSTRALIA

CMS-Australia currently has 150 missionaries serving in 30 countries. We focus on cities, campuses and major unreached people groups, working in partnership with national churches.

CMS-Australia sends godly, committed, long and short-term missionaries to strategic tasks.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Since its beginning, over 200 years ago, CMS has followed five principles. They are:

Follow God's leading.
Put money in second place, not first.
Begin in a small way.
Under God, all will depend on the type of people sent out.
Look for success only from the Spirit of God.

The object of CMS is to work for the coming of God's Kingdom through the proclamation of the gospel of Christ throughout the world in fellowship with local churches.

IN THE GOSPEL

We believe that if people are to support CMS by prayer and giving they need first to be committed to Christ and his mission. On that basis, we strive to help them in that commitment in the following ways:

to be a genuine gospel agency,
to send out people who are truly gospel people,
to send them to valid gospel tasks, and
to effectively communicate to them our needs for prayer and financial support

LIVES TRANSFORMED

BY CHRIST

We serve our brothers and sisters in Christ through a wide range of ministries: from Bible teaching and ministry training, to caring and development work. But service is not just one-sided. We have so much to learn from the people of God with whom we minister. In many places, they have an enthusiasm, a willingness to suffer and a spirit of encouragement which challenges our own commitment and extends our own capacity to serve.
