Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) is planning a conference to be held in India either by the end of 2009 or 2010. The purpose of this consultation is to celebrate the life of V. S. Azariah and other Asian delegates at Edinburgh 1910, and to recapture the challenges that they have given to reconstruct mission priorities for today. This meeting will be held in cooperation with the National Council of Churches of India and the Dornakal Diocese of CSI.

Unity in Mission and Hope Conference

From 19-23 March 1860, the Protestant churches in Liverpool hosted the first world missionary conference, consisting of 126 representatives of various British Protestant missionary societies. The participants discussed “various plans of missionary labour at home and abroad” in order to identify the theoretical and practical implications for Christian witness and service in their times. Fifty years later, the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh expanded these and many other aspects of Christian witness and service. The 2010 conference will invite scholars from different parts of the world to reflect on other models of living ecumenism.

Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization, Cape Town, South Africa

Church and mission leaders will prayerfully seek God’s guidance in responding so that God’s name may be honored and many more men, women and young people will be able to hear and respond to the message of Christ presented in a relevant and culturally appropriate manner. It is anticipated that over 4,000 leaders from 200 countries will attend Cape Town 2010.
